Looks like the weather forecast is calling for nothing but rain over the next little while. Lucky for you, we have an excellent solution to pass the time indoors. Grab a friend or a hot date and head over to the Allen Lambert Galleria in BCE Place to check out the World Press Photo 2006 exhibit.
World Press Photo is a non-profit organization which runs one of the most well-known and prestigious worldwide annual press photo contests. Winning photographs are brought together into a stunning travelling exhibit, showcasing some of the most monumental events captured around the world over the past year. If you only attend one photo exhibit all year, this one should be at the top of your list.
Details:
Oct. 3 – 22, 2006
7am – 10pm
Allen Lambert Galleria, BCE Place
181 Bay St.
Congratulations to Canadian Finbarr O’Reilly (Reuters) for capturing this year’s World Press Photo of the Year (pictured above), of a malnourished child reaching to his mother’s mouth at a feeding centre in Niger.
Note: If you plan on attending with childen, be forewarned that some images may be very graphic in nature.
