TIFF 2006: Blog Roundup Day 8
What, it’s over? Filmmakers, fans, industry people and most of all bloggers are in shock that this year’s TIFF is coming to an end.
Vickie over at Moviepie Musings has even given it a name Post Festival Sickness.
I hate PFS. And, if it really is PFS, it’s not even waiting until after my final screening to kick in this year. Evil! I am fighting its onset tooth and nail, dosing myself with plenty of vitamin C and zinc and trying my best to include some modicum of healthy eating (along with more than six hours of sleep these last couple of nights) so as to give my immune system some fuel as it goes into this near-annual battle
Yeah, kind of think of it Film Fests would be an unhealthy combo. Mix rain-drenched film goers who haven’t been sleeping much, eating pizza, hot dogs and fast-food, throw in the ramped up air conditioning in most theatres, throngs of star-crazy fans packed tightly together and we got ourselves a breeding ground for flu, cold and god knows what else.
Famous @ the Fest and everythingtoronto diss the Fountain. It doesn’t matter that Rachel Weisz is in it, they think the movie blew.
Finally those with more reporting muscle than us round up the fest. Anne Thompson at the Hollywood Reporter crowns Borat King of the Prom. We agree with her and in true Oliver Stone fashion think that the projector malfunction was done on purpose. The CBC has its roundup here and we gotta admit Sarah Polley looks damned hot in that dress.
