Ballenford Tackles Bare Wood

2006_08_19bookshelf.jpgAs the summer slowly makes way for what seems to be an early fall, pretty soon we’ll all spend more time huddled around the fireplace for the… holiday season. That’s right… Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Kwanzaa are just around the corner, and the family is coming over to your place for dinner.
They will come by and sit in your living room as you pass around some celebratory glasses of wine or nog. How festive. How quaint. But all the festivocity will end as they all will notice your bare, unadorned coffee table, and your bookshelves full of romance novels and instruction manuals. For shame.
Not to worry though, Torontoist was tipped off to Ballenford Book’s Summer Sale. It’s best that you work fast though, to cover your wooden mongrels quickly with some thick architecture and design books. 2006_08_19coffeetable.jpg Every book is on sale from 20% to 80%, along with overstocks and remainders too. Now everyone can have Jane Jacobs gracing their shelves, and perhaps a tasteful Taschen or two. You can also pick up some subway buttons and Toronto Architecture guides while your there.
Sale’s on this weekend only.
Ballenford books on architecture landscape + design is located at 600 Markham Street (near the Victory Cafe.) Hours: Sunday & Monday 12 – 5, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10 – 6, Thursday 10 – 7.
