T.O. Celebrates Italy Win, Pitfield Campaign Going Nowhere and Regent Park Shootings

Unless you’ve been asleep for the last 24 hours you already know that Italy won the World Cup. Torontonians celebrate all over the city but the bulk of the partying centred on College St. and up on Corso Italia on St. Clair.

This one guy celebrates too much and drives a schoolbus into a barricade near Lakeshore Boulevard and Strachan, in full view of a traffic cop.
Speaking of car wrecks, Jane Pitfield’s campaign doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. Some early supporters have already dropped out and she hasn’t received the backing of prominent right-wingers.
T.O. Grand Prix organizers won’t release attendance figures for this year’s figures. Some think it’s because the event has been losing its audience in recent years.
Police are warning the public about a possible serial sex offender in the city’s west end.
All of this is almost enough to make us borrow this man’s new “ornithopter.” The Toronto-designed machine actually flies by flapping its wings. Its inaugural flight was 14 seconds long which is enough to get us, down the block.
