Torontoist will take a look each week at what’s being said on the people’s perpendicular press on and around the Danforth. Given the absence of wooden poles and the city’s policy of scrape, scrape, scrape, vox pop isn’t as loud as it used to be. Pity.
Attention all residents “Ward 30”
Don’t forget summer is a time of year to be extra careful at parks and pools in all communities.
*children are priceless
*pets are not replaceable
*leave valuables at home
Most importantly, never leave a child or pet unattended for any reason at any time.
Happy Safe and Fun Summer

Interesting dissonances and assonances in these two messages.
Editor’s Note: Contributor Sean Lerner sends this our way about the potluck, which he is helping organize:
Talk to people in Withrow Park and they’ll tell you how wonderful it is, and then they’ll tell you their ideas for it: a community garden to feed local schools, more events for kids, a giant playground complete with castle similar to what was recently built at Kew Gardens. But mostly the ideas just sit in the backs of people’s minds. Local residents, inpired by the community spirit that exists on the other side of town at Dufferin Grove Park, are organizing a potluck supper to see if there’s the will and desire for more community involvement at Withrow.
