More Recycling Please, Jazz Returns To Island Airport and Traffic This Weekend Is Going to Be Bad

Proposals are in the works to allow polystyrene, spiral containers (ie. frozen juice concentrate cans) and even plastic bags. The problem is that the city’s recycling capacity is maxed out and the City is desperately looking for more cash to increase capacity.
Ok, which of you are hoarding green Steamwhistle bottles? The popular brewery is experiencing a bottle shortage and wants its green bottles back. We love this beer in the summer and wouldn’t want them to have to slow down production.
Air Canada Jazz will be resuming flights on the island airport in August. We thought they had been ordered by a judge to stop flying into downtown Toronto, if that’s the case how are they able to resume service? It must have something to do with the new Porter airlines, damn.
Toronto’s oldest jazz club, the Montreal Bistro, has closed its doors due to a lease dispute with the landlord. Jazz fans see this as a real blow to a scene that recently also lost the Top o’ the Senator club.
Driving in the city over the weekend? Good luck. With the World Cup finals, The Outdoor Art Exhibit at Nathan Phillips Sq. The Celebrate Toronto Street Fest, Afro Fest, and the Grand Prix the roads will be a mess. So get on the TTC or bike.
