Dignitas International Race for Dignity 65-Hour Stationary Bike-A-Thon
We’re terribly lazy here at Torontoist so we often receive press releases in our inbox which we look at briefly, think “Gosh, we should really post about that” before promptly forgetting about it completely and moving on to do something else, like pick our toenails. But even last week having this, Dignitas International’s AIDS awareness/fund raiser Race for Dignity, posted as a tip in our sidebar didn’t shame us enough. But as you can only register as a participant until August 4th we should probably get on it.
Probably the reason we hesitated as we didn’t entirely understand what a ‘65-Hour Stationary Bike-A-Thon’ was – we wondered, did you just… try and balance on a stationary bike for 65 hours? Oh man! That would be real frustrating. Naturally, as you’re not a dumbass you know it’s about riding an exercise bike, where you, you know, pedal, but the bike doesn’t move. Of course. So, if you fancy riding a bike for (up to) 65 hours (one hour for every million people who have been infected with HIV to date) between Monday, August 14th to Thursday, August 17th, helping raise awareness and funds for Dignitas’ initiatives, you might fancy signing up here. If you’re too, you know, lazy, you can always pledge here, too.
