Cabbies Stabbed, SUV Smashed and Seagulls Shooed

2006_5_2beck.jpg Cabbies were attacked last night. Two of them were stabbed and one of them is in critical condition. A third cabbie was held up at gunpoint.
Councillor Paul Ainslie wants to figure out how to honour Toronto mayors not yet honoured, people like Barbara Hall and John Sewell. Some of the ideas thrown around include sculptures or portraits.
A third wheel-trans driver has been charged with sexual assault. The TTC is considering installing cameras on its fleet of shuttle buses.
Call it an act of god or an accident but an SUV parked in a Mississauga parking lot was destroyed by a falling airplane part. No one was hurt but the accident caused some $3000 of damage.

The City is spending almost $200,000 to keep seagulls away from beaches at Centre Island and Bluffer’s Park. Seagull droppings were apparently the main cause of water pollution and caused beach closures last summer.
