Show Bikes, Art Bikes and Motor Bikes

2006_3_3wearetraffic.jpgWith the temperature inching just above freezing this weekend Torontoist might just have to bring out our bike. We miss riding it around town, dodging cabbies, avoiding horse crap (if you’re Matt B.) and just feeling the cold Toronto air in our freezing faces. Ah, bike-riding in Winter.
That being said it’s never too early to think about those summer months when bike-riding is a little less of an ordeal. The Toronto International Bicycle Show is in town once again. Today’s highlight has got to be Olympian Lori-Ann Muenzer, she of blown tire but gold medal moxie, fame.
But Torontoist’s budget is a little stretched right now so he’ll be avoiding consumerist temptations like nice shiny bikes. Instead he’ll head down and look at some art at the bike-themed We Are Traffic art show (OCAD auditorium, opening 4:00-7:00).
If your taste in bikes lean more toward the motorized variety maybe you should check out the well reviewed Andrew Harwood show Bikes at the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art and Paul Petro gallery (closing Saturday!). Sequins, glitter, disco balls and motorcycles! We’re so there.
