Fantino Not Running For Mayor
The Sun nips the Fantino running for mayor rumour in the bud. It seems that former chief is happy in his well paying provincial job (he makes 220k a year!) and won’t be challenging mayor Miller in November’s municipal election.
We’re glad that Fantino is happy and even ‘gladder’ that Julian won’t be trying to take over the big chair at City Hall. For one thing, we kinda think that mayoral candidates should actually live in the city. The last days of the chief were plagued by controversy on racial profiling and fights with the Toronto Police Service board.
