Brians Targeted at Lee’s Palace

2006_03_07brian.jpgCanadian Music Week at Lee’s Palace featured smells of raw sewage and stolen equipment. On two separate nights of CMW, Brian Borcherdt from Holy Fuck and Brian Poirier from the FemBots were shocked to find that their gear had vanished. Perhaps the thieving hoodlum(s) created the sewage disaster as a distraction ploy. Please contact the Brians if you have their items or know where their belongings are located. If your name is Brian, Torontoist would advise caution on future visits to Lee’s Palace.
On March 2nd, Brian Borcherdt lost his G4 PowerBook. The carrying case also contained his journal, which includes his songwriting, lyrics, and contacts from the past two years. Borcherdt reports: “I am so stunned that someone would take it, and simply mortified at the consequences. I can only offer $500 bucks for a reward. Or if someone knows anything at all, let me know, please. Maybe someone picked it up just trying to be helpful.” Please email Brian at [email protected] if you know the whereabouts of his laptop, carrying case, and journal.
On March 3rd, Brian Poirier lost his beloved acoustic guitar. Dave McKinnon of the Fembots relates: “It was packed up at the side of the stage with the rest of our gear after our set but at the end of the night it was nowhere to be seen. If anybody from the other bands grabbed it by accident we’d love to get it back. If someone stole it and is reading this post – we’d love to get it back. It’s an Anjo acoustic guitar with a single coil pick-up built into the neck and another pick-up in the sound hole. One volume knob and a very cheap pick-up selector switch. There is a pink star shaped Lederhosen Lucil sticker on the body behind the bridge. It is more or less a worthless piece of crap. Brian’s friend found it in a closet at an aunt’s house. As I said, it has zero resale value but it’s irreplaceable to the owner as it has been him main gigging guitar for many years.” If you have any information about Poirier’s missing guitar, please send an email to [email protected].
