The Parkdale-Gladstone Scavenger Hunt
The folks at Coach House Books can’t get enough of the Gladstone. Not only did they hold their packed book launch for uTOpia at the historic hotel (did you see our marshmallow architectural models?) they’ve decided to hold a scavenger hunt this weekend as part of this year’s Come Up To My Room alternative design fest.
The gauntlet gets thrown down at 2:00 on Sunday afternoon in the Gladstone ballroom. Teams will then spend the next two hours tracking down items for lovely prizes including books from Coach House and a stay in one of the newly renovated rooms at the Gladstone (perfect for those of us who can’t afford to get away this winter but really need a vacation). Team Torontoist is sooo there.
Torontoist would be remiss if he didn’t mention some of the great stuff happening at CUTMR 2006. Win or lose we’ll be spending some time looking through the various rooms redesigned for this weekend’s event and hopefully sitting in on a few of the Pssst panels on Saturday looking at creative ways we can reimagine our city. After reading David Balzer’s piece in this week’s Eye we’re also curious to see just what Toronto/Dusseldorf artist Tiff Izsa can do with a room.
