The Adorable Files: Valentine’s M.I.A – Fashion’s Long Lost Lover

abc.jpgThis is a sight that has become equally as common as it is unfortunate this winter. People all over Toronto have abandoned their relationships with the Jester Toque. No longer is this light-hearted look there to put a smile on our face during those unfortunate downtimes. The entertainers of our city streets have sadly opted for more traditional styles to warm their heads this winter season.
The benefits of this look went well beyond just being aesthetically pleasing. Carol singers wouldn’t have to tow around heavy instruments to accompany their door-to-door performances. As a great conversation piece, the Jester Toque also offered a way to get someone’s attention. Guys could avoid the unappreciated whistles or cat calls that girls often ignore. By a mere shake of the head, the jingle bells on your hat would arouse her wonder. This was usually followed by “Wow, I love your cool toque” and maybe dinner and a hotel room.
So Torontoist is pleading to the comics of our city to bring back the look we have been longing for all winter long. No one we will be disappointed with the results.
