Just Don’t Call Him Nazi

soupnazireturns.jpgThe real-life Soup Nazi Al Yeganeh will finally open his new store next week at the Eaton Centre. The grouchy soup salesman made the announcement last April, via a group of Canadian business men, and will attempt to expand to 100 franchises over the next five years. Probably a wise decision, the purveyor of gourmet soups is careful not to mention the word ‘nazi’:

The Original SoupMan (TM) will celebrate the long anticipated grand opening of their new location at The Toronto Eaton Centre on Thursday, February 23 at 12:00 p.m. The Original SoupMan features the Zagat-rated soups of legendary soup man Al Yeganeh, who inspired the famous “Soup Episode” on Seinfeld.

The “Soup Episode,” for those who don’t remember, is actually the “Soup Nazi Episode.” Nazi he is not, but soup capitalist, definitely: some soups will apparently cost upwards of $10.
