Scavenger Stands Up For Students

Don Woods of Scavenger sings “You Keep Me Hanging On,” a cover of the Supremes.
Scavenger, the band that invented jam-aoke, showed their dedication to the Ryerson community by opting out of a higher-paying gig to play a one-off gig at the Ram and Rye campus pub.
The band had a more lucrative gig at the Red Lion, but faced a condundrum when they were informed by the pub that there was too much dancing going on during the set. Well, lead vocalist and bassist Don Woods, formerly of Honeymoon Suite, wasn’t having any of that. The Red Lion’s attempt to repress dancing was met with the abrupt quittage of Scavenger. And thus, the legend of Scavenger – inventor of jam-aoke, defender of dancer rights – continues.
