In the news of the world wide web, Joe Clark (not to be confused with the real Joe Clark) has just informed us of his new neighbourhood website, The Free City of Leslieville. Though it’s purported to be about Leslieville, the content of Joe Clark’s most recent web-venture concerns two subjects: Joe Clark and how much Joe Clark doesn’t like Spacing.
According to Joe Clark’s numbers, Spacing Magazine has more references to the west end of the city than to his beloved Leslieville. He hates Spacing so much he refers to the staff as Spacers! Joe Clark is best known for his annoying comments and letters to local media, as well as maintaining various vanity websites. On this new site, though, he just may have a point. We at Torontoist are very interested in reading of the oft-ignored neighbourhood of Leslieville, but not so much of Joe Clark. If Joe Clark can manage to stay out of the too familiar Joe Clark-ville and stick to the boundaries of Leslieville, we may get some tolerable content.
