ATSA Comes Back to Toronto

ATSA (Action Terroriste Socialement Acceptable), the Montreal art collective, responsible for the burnt-out SUV installation at Dundas Square last summer is coming back to Toronto. They won’t be blowing up any SUVs, but drivers of gas guzzlers might want to watch out anyway.
Over the last few months the group has been working on a different project that pokes fun at the gas-guzzling giants. They’ve created and distributed thousands of “tickets” that fine SUV owners for things like high gas consumption, idling and more. In Montreal they distributed around 10,000 of these tickets, confusing and angering SUV owners but also getting the group a lot of media attention.
They’re bringing the project to The Theatre Centre as part of YYZ Artist Outlet’s Art+Activist and the Theatre Centre’s Free Fall shows going on right now. If you want to help ATSA distribute these tickets come down to the Theatre Centre, Feb. 3 4:00pm (Queen and Dovercourt). Copies of the tickets will be installed at YYZ later that night.
