On the First Day of December, Magic Pony will Send Me: Partridges & Pear Trees

The new holiday group exhibit, Partridges and Pear Trees, will open at Magic Pony shop and gallery to celebrate the “art of giving,” on Thursday, December 1, 6:00 to 10:00pm.
Tis the season of giving, and each of the many talented painters, illustrators, fashion designers, textile artists, photographers, toy makers, plush creators, graphic designers, sculptures and multi-media artists have created a unique art gift on display at the Pony until December 24. Artists will showcase work alongside each other to create a diverse and exceptional range of special art gifts.
Participating artists include Sonja Ahlers, Nick DiGenova, Derrick Hodgson, David Horvath, Kozyndan, Gary Taxali, Team Macho (Lauchie Reid, Chris Buchan, Nicholas Aoki, Jacob Whibley, and G. Stephen Appleby-Barr), Jason Van Horne, Will Munro, Erin Zimmerman, and many others.
Admission for the opening reception is $5 with all proceeds going to Ontario Nature in memory of Ryan Carriere. Ryan, an up-and-coming artist/cartoonist, was tragically killed by a truck at the corner of Queen and Gladstone on October 31. He was cycling home to take his children trick-or-treating.
Since 2002, Magic Pony – “a shop for creative animals” – has featured creative, unique, humourous and stylish products, in addition to exhibits in illustration, design, music, fashion and urban street culture, featuring local and international artists. They specialize in designer toys, clothing, printed matter, plush and household items – most of which are limited edition – making this a great spot for your Festivus holiday shopping.
