Ist List: Coziest Pub # 2
What defines cozy? The standard cozy bar is always “tucked away” in some quiet neighbourhood with “friendly staff” and “nice couches/boothes.” But Ronnies Local 069 is not really any of that. (Well, one could argue it’s tucked away, kind of).
The bar staff can make the experience a tad jarring (eye calls this cutely surly), and the inside can get a bit drafty. The coziness here is one of contrast: While the staff are trying to figure out who puked in the washroom and the door is flying open every 3 minutes, your seat feels all the more…safe. Amid the confusion (or, on the night we went, combustion), it’s easier to order another beer rather than leave. And that’s cozy.
