Howie Moscowls at Grumbling Councillors!
Councillors are claiming they were duped into giving themselves a raise by an amendment to a bill they passed, which gave 2.75% raises over four years to City employees. The councillors say they missed Mr. Moscoe’s amendment (which added the same raise for Councillors), that is slid, silent as the stock it was printed on, beneath their noses, and that they signed the thing without really wanting to give themselves raises. For his part, Moscoe was unrepentant: “If some councillors are now claiming they don’t know what they did, they’re under no obligation to accept the money, they can give it back.”
On related note, The TTC has issued brochures asking riders to draw a hat on Howard Moscoe. We know Councillor Moscoe is amenable to playing with his image a little, but a hat drawing contest is just plain bizarre.
