If we have to post one more picture of a gun…Jeez. Well, given there’s been no update on the ‘national gun crisis’ in a while, let’s check up on the issue with a few links.

The CBC’s Mary Weins talks to a Jane-Finch rapper, discusses blunts. Was that blunts? Or unfair media representation?
– According to police, a man was shot for not having any cigarettes. Also according to police, officers should be allowed to brandish weapons at peaceful ralleys.
Dork University’s Dr. Frances Henry and Carol Tator concluded the the press create a sense of “moral panic” in which “isolated incidents of violence are represented as an indication of a profound social crisis that imperils the nation.” But that was in 1997.
Canadian Association of Black Journalists: “These incidents of violence and loss of life threaten all of us . This is not just a Black issue. It is one for all of Canadian society, and we must respond to it as a Canadian issue, rather than trying to duck responsibility by making it only a Black issue.”
Prime Martin is having a 40-minute meeting with community groups re: gun violence solutions.
– Has anyone suggested banning guns within city limits?
