Chilled Out Romance Ist List: The Distillery
The end of the week brings us to what we think is one of the city’s most romantic spots – the Distillery District. We like it so much, in fact, that despite its proximity to the Gardener, we are pretty much guaranteed to melt for any boy who was to take us on a picturesque sojourn that included the following elements:
1. After a pretty stroll across the cobblestones, stake out the balcony at Balzac’s for lattes and people-watching, and maybe a brownie.
2. Hop, skip, and jump over to the gorgeous Sandra Ainsley Gallery to wander dazzled through rooms sparkling with stunning pieces of glass. Built into an old cooperage, the gallery has a couple of slightly hidden little rooms just begging to be made out in. But mainly we like to go there because the glass is pretty.
3. The rich and warming wonder that is Mexican hot chocolate at Soma. It is so damn good that you’ll probably want to go home afterwards. Or at least back to the Sandra Ainsley Gallery.
