Chilled Out Romance Ist List: Skating

sk87iy.jpgWe know we’re jumping the gun a bit on this one since most ice rinks don’t open until December, but consider it something to look forward to. Cheesy, clicheed, and totally awesome, there is nothing like a skating date to get your blood pumping and cure (albeit temporarily) your winter blues. Nathan Phillips Square is the obvious choice, but always far too crowded. We’ve always preferred the rink at Harbourfront, which is bigger, prettier, less crowded, and looks out over the lake. Skates are available for rental at a reasonable rate, and there’s hot chocolate at the cafe when your feet start to hurt. In addition to the cinematic perfection of staring up at clear sky full of stars while gliding across an ice rink arm-in-arm with your sweetie, the other benefits of a physically stimulating date should be fairly obvious.
