Murmur on Spadina

Torontoist has been a big fan of the Murmur project since it started. We’re even bigger fans of the silky voice that we get when we call the number (it’s the voice of James Roussel, the third and often forgotten member of Murmur). The idea behind Murmur is elegant and simple, using your cellphone you can listen to site-specific stories recorded by ordinary and not so ordinary Torontonians. The project has gotten the Murmur team plenty of good press. Green Murmur ears have even sprouted up in Vancouver, Montreal and Calgary.
As part of the TO Live With Culture campaign Murmur have expanded the project onto Spadina, with locations as far north as Casa Loma and as far south as Wellington. The project has gotten so big that Marlena Zuber’s illustration (left) won’t fit on a postcard anymore. They’re also looking for more stories, particularly by the lake.
Torontoist only has one question for the Murmur collective, just how do you pronounce Spadina? Spa-die-na? or Spa-dee-na?
