Indie Fest Grounded

2005_9_14newbuffalo.jpgSadly, Torontoist has learnt through comments on this here blog, stille post and a not working website that the Ear to the Ground Fest won’t be happening.
No word on whether any of the bands will regroup and put on their own shows but there’s plenty going on this weekend.
Boy Reporter is going to shamelessly plug his friend’s the Pickups who are launching their CD with Montreal piano-poppist Mike Evin at Sneaky Dee’s.
If you want to catch K’Naan there’s his show with DJ Spooky at the Drake Saturday night. Good luck getting in.
The cancellation of Ear to the Ground also means that we won’t have to fell guilty missing Sleater Kinney to go see recent Arts and Craft signing, New Buffalo at Wavelength. The charming singer-songwriter is from Australia and kinda looks like a cross between Leslie Feist and Metric’s Emily Haines (photo above). Coincidence? We think not.
