eCOPS is a Bad Name
eCOPS, the Toronto Police initiative to help officers share arrest information, is a gajillion dollars over budget, and still not functional. What’s worse, it’ll take another 1.5 mil to get eCOPS to work properly, but the “The board will now consider whether to spend that money, or to scrap the system altogether and buy a system already in use by another police force.” Having already poured $18 million into the project, would it not be wise to finish implementing the botchjob of a system? Also, eCOPS is a terrible, no good, very bad name.
