Post Scoopsmith Shinan Govani blows us away this morning with revelations of a secret addiction on the part of Mayor Miller. The addiction? Ice Cream. Miller came late to an interview for Conde Nast Traveler, toting along the dripping culprit for his tardiness, which was summarily written about in the magazine. And when our city’s intrepid gossip hound called up the city to ask how the Mayor felt about being ice cream outed, they said he’d have preferred it not to have been mentioned.
Now, despite the article’s description of the Mayor (a chunky, quarterback-sized man with a good thatch of fair hair), TOist knows the Mayor to be much more than a lumbering lunk. So why then would he arrive at an interview with a melting mess of vanilla if he didn’t want said penchant for vanilla to be disclosed. A mystery, to be sure.
That said, the mag did heap accolades on the Mayor’s wavy locks. But we already knew they were newsworthy, and so did you. The real mystery: how to clean up spilled ice cream with a broom.
