On Saturday TOist enjoyed the warm weather with a stroll through Yorkville where we saw man-about-town Stephen Dorff at Hemingway’s. Toronto Star’s resident star watcher Rita Zekas also spotted Stephen with his new girlfriend Pam Anderson, again in Yorkville, this time outside of Café Nervosa. He’s in Toronto filming the new flick, .45, with Milla Jovovich and Andie MacDowell.
After a tiring day of people watching and celeb spotting we headed over to local jeweler Sarah Rocks who opened her studio doors for a gem of a sale. There was lots to choose from including semi-precious necklaces, earrings and bracelets, but TOist opted for her popular feathered pins
Much later that evening TOist checked out the new “Eat Your Greens” night at the new Neutral club in Kensington Market. For those of you still saddened by the loss of Blow Up then this is the spot for you. Cheap cover ($5) and the same good tunes (mod, rock, pop) abound with a spacious dance floor is good for breaking out your best Roger Rabbit. EYG just started this month so it still needs to find its legs but by midnight the dance floor was packed and the DJ was spinning his best in Franz Ferdinand, Postal Service, Pulp, Stone Roses, Metric, and the Strokes for the young and hip modsters. TOist could have used some more 80s tunes and a little less melodic indie pop – though we absolutely adore the Stars it was a little hard to dance to Elevator Love Letter after the Scissor Sisters.
