Transit Disaster Averted
If you haven’t already heard the news, the heads of the TTC and the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 113 got their acts together and averted a potentially painful transit strike. A tentative deal will be voted on by the union on Thursday and all subways, streetcars and buses will be running today.
While the frantic brokering and negotiation managed to save us from an agonizing strike the long term outlook still looks bleak and the only man who can do anything about it isn’t listening.
Well Paul, listen up. We know you don’t have many friends left in Quebec, especially not after all this stuff you may or may not have pulled with the advertising companies. Don’t forget that right now Ontario, and the GTA in particular, are one of the friendly places you’ve got left in the country. We know you’re probably busy trying to salvage what’s left of your party’s reputation in Quebec and making sure that you don’t pull a Brian Mulroney and drive Canada’s largest party into political obscurity.

Here’s an idea? What about governing. We know a very good place where you can start.
