Fancy, Furry Festival Express

resize.jpgTwo pics for this week’s FF. You could go Fancy, Furry, Sticky and moderately pretentious with the Images Festival’s Friday Night Short program, or you could go for a modern classic by way of Bob Roberts. The former shows artists attacking our understanding of all things slimey. The latter shows Tim Robbins acting well, instead of winning Oscar’s for acting poorly.
The Slimefest promises you free grill cheese, and says these ‘films and video have a strong empathy for children’s programming.’ Bob Roberts promises you absurdist campaign songs, and a strikingly spot on parody of current politicos, despite the fact that the film was made in 1992.
Should neither of these doozies appeal, watch Festival Express at 9 at the Bloor. It’s Layton’s pick, so if you don’t like it, please take up matters with your local MP. And have a nice weekend.
