Caribou on Fire

caribou.gifYes, The Arcade Fire are playing their last of three sold out shows at the Danforth Music Hall tonight. And it’s true concert reviews from the past two nights have been favourable. Tonight will be just as good, if not better. Like the past two nights, tonight’s show is sold out. If you have the money for it, scalped tickets are anywhere from $40 to $120. But don’t buy a scalped ticket from that jerk who hates the music and the people that listen to it. Arcade Fire will play Toronto again, and probably pretty soon, and probably at a venue that isn’t a movie theatre, and probably with newer material…
If you want to see an amazing show tonight there’s another option. Caribou, formerly Manitoba, is playing at the Horseshoe. The band will be playing a collection of songs from the past two Manitoba albums as well as the new Caribou album. The new album is amazing, their live show includes two drummers, and they perform with the energy of a million stars. Although The Arcade Fire set a high concert standard it’s entirely possible that Caribou will meet it.
Caribou play the Horseshoe at 11pm with Singing Saw Orchestra hitting the stage 9:45. Tickets are $15 at the door and it’s not sold out (at least not yet).
