Cartoon Cuties on the TTC
As ear-to-the-ground reporter and all-around great guy JKelly reported yesterday, the city’s subway systems have become increasingly annoying lately. Some of that irritation is due to the extra 25 cents for fares, but most of it comes when subway riders are forced to look at Virgin Mobile’s ads for something that is not STD medication but is made to look like STD medication.
But thanks to the Dove Campaign for Beauty, there are some attractive ads featuring pictures of Wilma Flintstone, the gorgeous Judy Jetson, and that blue-haired beauty Marge Simpson. The Dove ads, once derided on this very website, conjure up memories of watching cartoons on the couch or dreaming about what Ms Jetson would look like topless (Over the line! Mark it zero!). They’re also a nice distraction from the extremely hateful What’s On? TTC rider quizzes. (We give up – which stop has that picture of a cow?)
