-Ist Family Ties
Since our -Ist parents are still in their child-bearing years, it was only a matter of time till we got new brothers and sisters. Today marks the Beta birth of 
Bostonist and Seattlest. Both sites appear healthy and arrived without complications.
To give some context to the new -Ist arrivals, Torontoist compares our family of websites to the classic sitcom Family Ties. Our forefather, Gothamist, would be Steven Keaton, played by the affable Michael Gross. Chicagoist would be Elyse Keaton, played by Meredith Baxter Birney (now goes by Meredith Baxter). DCist and LAist would be older sisters Mallory and Jennifer Keaton. SFist is Alex’s second girlfriend Lauren Miller, played by Courtney Cox in a truly break-out performance. And, it goes without saying that Torontoist would be the great Alex P. Keaton, played by Canadian Michael J. Fox. This leaves the role of baby Andrew Keaton to Londonist, Bostonist and Seattlest. Since baby Andrew was played by three different actors throughout the series, all three -Ist blogs are needed to represent the character.
And that is the new -Ist household. Welcome Bostonist and Seattlest!
