Soy Nuts

dairy-alt.gifThe people behind So Good Soy Milk must be nuts. This can be the only explanation for the following release:

Join all the action today as Dundas Square is transformed into a summer vacation oasis, complete with a beach, tiki bars, live music, and … cows in Hawaiian shirts.
Why, you might ask?
With more and more Canadians making the switch from dairy milk to soymilk, many cows are finally enjoying much-deserved vacations. And the city has been buzzing as a herd of dairy cows made Toronto its destination for a week-long vacation, culminating with the beach party at Dundas Square.

As part of their ‘Summer in the City’ campaign, So Good will have their cows onsite from 10AM to 2 PM, so you can “talk to the “cows on vacation” and find out why they are there, and what they have been up to.” Perhaps you can ask them how they feel about being forced to wear Hawaiian Shirts and play volleyball in the snow. Maybe they can fit into that temperature-sensitive truck with all the models from that Mexican Government tourism campaign.
TOist has no problem with soy milk, or the promotion thereof, but is this really necessary? Isn’t Dundas Square tacky enough without embarrasing milk promotions? It’s not so good, and what’s not so good is bad.
