Juno Nominations: Does it Smell Like Butt in Here?

2005_02_08junos.gifSomething was out-of-place at yesterday’s Juno announcements in the Liberty Grand. It wasn’t Juno host Brett Butt, because he was in full effect. Nor was it PopWherry, who may or may not be the fifth member of Sum 41. Nope, the sore thumb was Torontoist. We didn’t have much of a schmooze going on, and ended up just eating sandwiches in the corner. Even former Kingstoner and Idol ninny Ryan Malcolm gave us the snub. What’s up with that? The whole event felt like that (Smog) song, “Ex Con.” You know, the one where he sings, “Alone in my room / I feel like such a part of the community / but out on the streets / I feel like a robot by the river / looking for a drink.”2005_02_08junos2.gif
Anyway, we also tried to take a photo of East Coast cool guy and nominee Matt Mays, but that bald head in the picture is just too distracting. The complete list of nominees – which includes Feist getting a Best New Artist nomination for her second album – can be found here.
