Homelessness: Protests and Da Ali G

050202_protesters_ocap_250.jpgHomelessness affects all strata of the population. While homelessness activists staged council disruptions left and right, Sasha Baron Cohen was being kicked out his very subsidized Hollywood Hills housing project.
Ali-G.jpgIt would seem that Baron and his special ladyfriend were victims of the increasingly messy Aniston/Pitt/Jolie imbroglio. Where will Ali G find $1600 rent for a million dollar mansion now? Certainly not in Toronto, where $1600 will get you about as far as the Polo Club. That said, even if Miller’s well-intended homeless plan passes, OCAP protesters will be sleeping in Nathan Phillips Square in an act of defiance. So long as he doesn’t incite any crowds to riot, TOist thinks Ali G might make a good advocate for the homeless. He’s tenacious and funny, and he knows what it feels like to have your home taken away from you.
