Winter’s City-certified Fun
Wintercity is here. And we have the American Express Foundation and the city dept. of fun to thank for it. Mild cynicism aside, we’re glad corporations can get onside and help spring for hoohahs like this – Benetton would drool over these Wintercity clip-art models. And toddlers and grandmas alike can drool over the freebie public spectacles that will take over the city until February 10th.
If you break out in hives just thinking about men in unitards and Cirque de Soleil, then the free entertainments, like the mythical circus show, Malaya, might not be your cuppa. But if you like food (and TOist contributors who write posts about Winterlicious whilst quoting MFDoom) then you’d do well to check out some of the restaurant menus you’ve long swooned over but never indulged in (the food on the menus that is, not the menus themeslves. please do not eat menus). In fact, you now have an excuse to go to Fred’s Not Here. And report your findings back to Toist, who has never been there, but knows that Fred is indeed there, because he is certainly not here.
