Tyler Brûlé Calls Barbara Budd

16FASH_BRULE,0.jpgAccording to an interview in the Independent with Former Canadian/Present Citizen of the World, Tyler Brûlé, the CBC is not decentralised. Brûlé, in an effort to get the deets in order for the impending launch of his Beeb4 media show, The Desk, phoned up his home broadcaster, as well as Australia’s ABC, to research trends in public broadcasting. The verdict: decentralisation does not work. It’s all a bluff. TOist is shocked. Does Tyler mean that Sook Yin’s not actually in Winnipeg even though she says she is? It can’t be true.
As for the former Wallpaper* one’s next move, The Desk looks interesting indeed. Brûlé’s caché (Brûlécaché?) means show credits by the duo behind Catch Me if You Can‘s fine opener, and music courtesy of Air’s producer. Here’s hoping that Strombo’s short to debut CBC show, The Hour, is getting the same kind of high design love.
