TTC Fare Hype
As the ideas come pouring in about the best way to avoid the looming TTC fare hike planned for February, one reporter at the Star has called the hike a simple threat that won’t be realized. It’s all part of a plan to get more money out of the provincial government, while keeping the other city departments at bay.
Royson James argues this is what happened last year and it will happen again. Remember when Dalton gave the city $24-million to avoid a fare hike? It doesn’t make sense for Miller to increase the fare of his beloved TTC after pumping money in to increase ridership. This Economic degree-holding Torontoist can tell you an increase in fare means a decrease in TTC use.
