Mixtape Essentials: Frank Black and Titties

2004_11_16mixtape.gifIt’s that time again. This week will reflect some of the older fat men who came into Mississauga for two excellent shows this week. And for no particular reason, there are more videos too.
1. Frank Black and the Catholics – Nadine
Off of his last year’s album with those Catholics, Show Me Your Tears.
2. Frank Black – Monkey Gone to Heaven
A re-working of the Pixies classic that appears on this year’s Frank Black solo.
3. Gravy Train!!! – Titties Bounce
In a year, it went from “shake it like a polaroid picture” to “let me see those titties bounce.” I blame society.

4. Midnight Movies – Mirage (video)
The singer/drummer is a dead ringer for Nico…and why not?
5. Charizma & Peanut Butter Wolf – Red Light, Green Light (video)
PBW back to his old mixtape tricks. A funny video and funnier song.
6. Feist – One Evening (video)
Hopefully she will do this dance tomorrow night in concert, with or without her video partner Buck 65. This video won’t work on some computers (Thanks for nothing, Feist).
7. Dizzee Rascal – Dream (video)
I saw this video on Much Music’s The Wedge right before I beat my friend/acquaintance Drew in a spirited game of NHL ’94 on Sega. Maybe I just have fond memories of the solid 4-2 victory, or maybe it was just fun seeing a miniature Dizzee Rasclat dance around with puppets. He’s such a rascal. Until next week!
