Toronto Living: Luxury Spoken Here
Toronto has a new rich mag in Toronto Living: Luxury Lifestyle Magazine. And it’s “JUST IN TIME TO SEE WHAT IS ON TORONTO’S RICH HOLIDAY SHOPPING LIST.” So many things wrong with this picture Torontoist doesn’t know where to begin. Oh right, the name. Are they kidding? The semi-colon epidemic has already infected all of book publishing. Do mags now have to elongate their names to cartoonish proportions too? Toronto Living – Luxury Lifestyle Magazine. Trippingly, off the tongue, it does not roll.
And why on earth does their cover look like 1993 warmed over? Perhaps Torontoist just doesn’t understand luxury, or why rich people would want to read about what other rich people buy. Silly us, we thought rich people bought what young, cool people bought. But of course, young, cool people don’t generally buy yachts. A bit of pr speak for fullest comprehension of the mag’s laudable goals:
“The magazine is going to redefine the way that luxury is communicated within the Toronto and area market. We will be the voice for those who define luxury, class, quality and style in this city as we have successfully done with our Calgary edition of the magazine.”
Further proof that Toronto truly is a World class city.
