Christmas Clutter

2004_12_31wrap.jpgIf you went home for the holidays, you no doubt brought back at least three times what you took with you. Now, where are you going to put that in your 400 square foot Toronto apartment? This is the dilemma that Torontoist was faced with when we came back with lots of Xmas goodies. The mission – get rid of some of the clutter in the apartment before the winter static and dust set in.
Even if you’re not the anal-retentive organizing type, Solutions can be a good place to start when cleaning house. It sells household items and storage containers that will help you to find a place for everything and reclaim some of that precious little city living space. The recently opened location north of Yonge and Eglinton is two floors of immaculate and well-designed retail. Large, colorful signs overhead direct you to ‘Bedroom’, ‘Kitchen’ and ‘Bathroom’. Who knew there were so many kinds of shower caddies! If you have something — they have a way to store it.
You can also support your friendly local designer by picking up one of the numerous items by local design house Umbra, including the Juxta drawer system designed by Parkdale resident Scot Laughton, for only $25. Torontoist hopes there are some left when we make another trek back there on payday. They also have a location in the west end at Dufferin Mall.
