Toronto will be a popular place for dudes with blue sunglasses and leather jackets this weekend as the city hosts the 2nd annual International U2 Fan Fest. The non-profit event known as inTO the Heart was conceived by Greater Toronto Area U2 enthusiasts for fans to celebrate the music of Bono, the Edge, and the other two guys. Although the band won’t actually be in Toronto, there will be lots of U2 related stuff going on, including U2 tribute concerts, U2-themed parties, a live taping of U2 Idol, special U2 DJ’s, and much U2 more. The festival starts tonight, Nov. 4, at Esplanade Bier Markt and continues Friday at Club 279 and Saturday at the Opera House. All money goes to U2-endorsed charities, like Amnesty International. U2’s new album, How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, will be released Nov. 8 and probably won’t be as good as Achtung, Baby.
