South of the Border Election-o-Rama

2004_11_02Kerry.gifTorontoist won’t even pretend we’ll be venturing outside tonight. Nope, we’ll be holed up in front of the tube, eating lime-doritos and scanning the networks for the least offensive pundits, as the vote count rolls in. In honour of the end, here are the two photos that Torontoist feels best represents the estimable candidates. 2004_11_02Bush.jpgMonths of furiously checking Electoral-vote will come to an end today, and Torontoist only hopes that the vote won’t have to go to the courts. We’ve enjoyed the horserace, to be sure – the bulge, the internets, Dick Cheney’s gay daughter, and many a nights spent looking to Jon Stewart for some clarity, some grounding amidst all this confusion and absurdity. Which reminds us of the excellent, unfinished Avedon symphony in the pages of the New Yorker – an absurd and beautiful election spread that is broad enough to encompass an America that holds both Jon Stewart, and crazy old convention ladies with too much lipstick, and more lapel pins than a waitress at Fridays.
