ROM Goes Vogue
The ROM wants to be a fashion museum. First there were the pearls, and now there’s a pile of swankified denim on offer, in support of the Endowment for Costumes and Textiles. Fifteen Canadian glossies and fashion designers have “re-designed” fifteen Levis denim jackets, which will be auctioned off for charity. Good thing, thinks Torontoist, because most of them look like your worst acid wash nightmare. But charity need not be pretty.
Guests will also be invited to check out the lovely ‘Touched by Indigo‘ embroidery and textile show. No surprise, then, that everyone’s favourite bookstore will be on hand to milk the product tie-in offer up some lovely Indigo-themed books. It all goes down from 6:30 – 9:30 at the evolving crystal. Gaudy denim + gaudy museum = gaudy fun. Perhaps.
