Lomo Show a TO Go
Toronto Image Works plays host to Lomo H2O, an exhibition of fifteen lomo artists, in association with the Lomographic Society of Canada. Lomos, those delectably cheap Russian single lens cams, took the world by kitsch storm for a while, but Torontoist thought the deluge of phonecams might have sated the need for fuzzy, outtafocus coloured images. So the lomoshow is a welcome hurrah for the little cams than can! Torontoist came to love the cheap thrill of the Lomo, despite having to mail back its lomo after it broke on the first roll. We shot this hand-coloured shot on a balmy Spring day on Queen West last year. The International Lomo site has loads of beautiful galleries, and lots of lomo info. The Star’s Peter Goddard has a good piece on toy cams here.
