It’s Opposite Day

2004_11-05arafat.jpgThe rhetoric floating about sickly PLO leader Arafat reads like Beckett on steroids. This morning brings us the ‘reversible coma.’ Get it. It’s a coma that cam be reversed. This reuters copy makes it a wee bit clearier – Arafat is in the space ‘between life and death.’ Is that like a waiting room?
If it weren’t being used in such a greivous manner, Torontoist would have no problem with an old school Reversible reference! We mourn the decrease of reversible apparel in our lives. Remember when ‘but it’s reversible’ was a rallying cry for child purchasing power? Ok, neither do we. But we do remember that reversibility used to be a much more cherished quality in our frenzied world. Perhaps if this coma can be reversed, the reverse revival can begin in earnest.
