Carter Joking, Raps a Joke
Apparently, when Vince Carter told reporters he wasn’t going to dunk anymore, he was only referring to home games. Last night, VC was stuffing dunks left and right in a spirited effort against a team once known as the Washington Bullets. The Raptors lost, with Carter racking up a respectable 25 points in the game. A dunk late in the third quarter was, in fact, probably Carter’s best dunk since winning the Slam Dunk competition in 2000. When asked about his previous no-dunking stance, Vince said, “C’mon. Whatever. It was a joke.”
Instead of blaming Vince Carter for the loss, the Torontoist would like to point the finger at Morris Peterson. MoPete’s horrid shot selection, including a fourth quarter double-clutch fade away three point brick from deep in the corner, is the reason the loss – and the reason that the Raptors are 5-7 and not 12-0.
