A WORLD OF FIRSTS
We’re chock-a-block with film fests this dreary month. Especially short film programs. But among all this, one fest emerges as the shortest of them all. Indeed, the One Minute Film Festival stipulates that all their films be, what else, one minute in length. On top of that, this year the theme was firsts. So the filmmakers were doubly restricted. This sounds like a good thing.
The fest itself is one of the city’s younger ones, and the product of ‘a dare among lapsed-filmmaker friends in Toronto.’ If all dares were this fruitful, Torontoist would dare more often. Tonight at the Bloor Cinema.
