Last night, TOist was privy to a sneak preview of the new wing at Yorkdale Mall during the “Flaunt It” opening party, complete with champagne flutes, body-painted human mannequins and gleaming plate glass and stainless steel just begging for fingerprints. Workers were still scurrying around fixing tiles and adjusting the rectangular grass-filled planters until the moment guests arrived. Though it's a sad statement that a family of tourists from California was hanging at the Yorkdale Mall on their Toronto vacation, it's a sadder statement that their home RV, complete with all their personal belongings and pet hamster, was stolen from said mall. Poor tourists. And yes, we know the cops are busy, but wouldn't a 31-ft RV with green and brown trim and California plates be pretty hard not to find?......
